NJ Abandoned Lines

Pursuant to N.J. Stat. § 48:3-122, et seq., New Jersey customers and/or property owners may request removal of attached, above-ground telecommunications or cable lines that they suspect to be abandoned.  If you suspect that an above-ground cable(s) or wire(s) owned by Optimum may be abandoned, you may notify Optimum at Attn: Shared Services 1111 Stewart Ave Bethpage, NY 11714.  To the extent the suspected abandoned line is owned by Optimum, the Company will determine within 30 days of receiving the request whether the line is abandoned, consistent with applicable law, and, within 30 days thereafter, will either: (i) correct the condition causing the line to be abandoned or (ii) remove the line.  To facilitate such requests, you may be asked to provide: (i) the utility pole number, address, or latitude and longitude of the utility pole to which the suspected abandoned line is attached and/or (ii) a photograph of the suspected abandoned line.
