- I received a communication regarding a free Internet speed upgrade. What does this mean?
- We've upgraded your Internet speed as part of our commitment to reconnect and as a thank you for being our loyal customer. We want to ensure you have faster speeds, better value, and great service with no change to your current price for Internet.
- Will I be charged for the speed upgrade?
- As part of the speed upgrade, you're being moved to a higher speed that is now offered at your current rate. There'll be no change to your current price as a result of this activity.
- I was told my speed was upgraded, but I'm not getting faster speed. What should I do?
- If you aren't experiencing the faster speed, you may need to reset your modem.
- Unplug your modem from the power source
- Wait 30 seconds and plug the modem back in
- If you received new equipment from us recently, please make sure you set up the new equipment to receive the upgraded speed.
- What should I do if I use my own modem?
- If you use your own equipment, please make sure you’re using a modem that’s capable of the faster speed to take full advantage of your service. Learn more about modem compatibility.
- Option 1: Rent a modem from Optimum to ensure you have the equipment that’s right for your Internet speed, with 24/7 tech support. Plus, complimentary equipment replacement if there’s ever a malfunction or need to upgrade. To rent one for as low as $10 per month, visit your local Optimum store or message us.
- Option 2: Purchase your own modem by following the modem compatible guide. For your convenience, compatible modems are available for purchase at shop.surfboard.com/optimum-store/.
- What should I do if I would like to change my speed?
- Changes can always be made! You can contact our customer service at 1.888.4.Optimum or sign into your account to see other available options.
