Lake Havasu Balloon Festival - Lake Havasu, AZ  - January 21 - 23

The 11th annual Lake Havasu Balloon Festival and Fair was held this January on the shores of Lake Havasu. Suddenlink was a sponsor of this breathtaking gem in the heart of the desert.  Colorful balloons, music and family fun made this one fantastic weekend to visit the desert shoreline.

Flagstaff Alpine Ski and Snowboard Team Sponsor – Flagstaff, AZ January - April

Suddenlink was a proud partner of FAST this Ski Season. Since 1967, the Flagstaff Ski & Snowboard Team has trained thousands of Arizona junior athletes, from talented amateurs to Junior Olympians. We support two teams, both of which train at the Arizona Snowbowl in Flagstaff. The Flagstaff Alpine Ski Team (FAST) competes in the US Ski & Snowboard Southern Series of the Rocky Mountain Division of the Rocky-Central Alpine Region. The Grand Canyon Freeride Team (GCFT) competes in the USASA Grand Canyon Series. Today FAST and GCFT train over 100 dedicated junior athletes from age 6 to 18 with more than 25 professional coaches on Arizona’s only junior Alpine athletic teams.

2022 Greater Flagstaff Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting and Athena Awards presented by Suddenlink - Flagstaff, AZ - February 18

In celebration of Women in Business, Suddenlink was proud to be the Title Sponsor of the Greater Flagstaff Chamber of Commerce Athena and Young Professional Awards!  What an exciting event with Keynote Speakers Dr. Jeffery Trent, Founder and Lead Researcher of TGEN and The Honorable Governor Doug Ducey. 

 
The Girl Scout STEM FEST – San Angelo, TX - March 5

Suddenlink was a sponsor of the Girl Scouts of Central Texas STEM FEST.  Suddenlink held a Fiber Optic Workshop where our Fiber Splicing Supervisor taught the Girl Scouts “What Splicing Fiber Lines means by the Professionals."

Texoma Highlights 

Girl Scouts STEM Fest- Bryan, TX- Feb 26

On February 26, Suddenlink had the honor of partnering with the Girl Scouts of Central TX at their annual STEM Fest to offer girls the opportunity to explore biomedical engineering, cybersecurity, robotics, nuclear science, and much more. All girls attending the event received a Suddenlink branded STEM Event patch, as well as some Suddenlink swag. Even retail agent Susan Hirsch, put on a virtual reality headset to get in on the experience. It was a great day for STEM, Girl Scouts, and Suddenlink.

Outrun Hunger - Conroe, TX - Feb 26

Suddenlink presented the Outrun Hunger fun run, which featured timed 5K and 10K trail runs and a 1K Second Line Parade, at Grand Central Park in Conroe, Texas. The fun run exceeded the Montgomery County Food Bank’s goals by raising a total of $74,555, which will help provide thousands of nutritious meals for the hungry throughout Montgomery County. The Suddenlink Team was out in full force to support the event.

Montgomery HS wins Dave Campbell Community Connector award presented by Suddenlink- Montgomery, TX - March 9

Suddenlink presented Dave Campbell’s Community Connection School of the Year award to Montgomery High School. Dave Campbell’s Texas Football launched an online voting process where fans and community members cast their vote for their favorite school. MHS received just under 50,000 of the nearly 300,000 votes cast. As part of the recognition, the Bears received a $2,500 donation during a campus celebration. School leadership, City Mayor, Coaches, and Suddenlink representatives were on hand to present the award.

Free Black History Museum Admission - Bryan College Station, TX - February

Suddenlink sponsored free admission to the Brazos Valley African American museum for Black History Month, which connected thousands of guests to the museum's rich cultural history.

Midsouth Highlights

Suddenlink Sponsors Quiz Bowl Trivia Night - Russellville, AR – February 10th

Suddenlink was the title sponsor for the Russellville, AR High School Quiz Bowl Team Family Trivia Night. Suddenlink employees volunteered to ask trivia questions and to pass out swag items. This community branding event was a great time of fun and fellowship with our Russellville customers. The Quiz Bowl team competes statewide with other high schools and have won the state title 5 out of the last 6 years!

 

Suddenlink Donates iPads to Greenwood Boys and Girls Club - Greenwood, MS - February 2nd

In Suddenlink’s ongoing efforts to promote STEM in its communities, Suddenlink gave 5 iPads to the Greenwood, MS Boys and Girls Club. The Club plans to use the iPads to enhance their coding and robotics programs. Local officials came to the presentation and thanked Suddenlink for its corporate citizenship.

 

Suddenlink Employees Volunteered for Food Bank Distribution - Rosepine, LA - February 25th

Suddenlink employees teamed up to help the Food Bank of Central Louisiana distribute bags of food to those in need in Rosepine, LA. The CENLA Food Bank serves 13 Parishes across Central Louisiana including Alexandria, LA. Suddenlink also made a monetary donation that will pay for 30,000 meals.
 

 

Suddenlink High School Basketball Night - Jonesboro, AR - February 22nd

Suddenlink was the presenting sponsor for the Jonesboro High School Senior Basketball Night in Jonesboro, AR. There was not an empty seat in the gym as the school recognized its senior athletes for their participation. At this community branding event, Suddenlink gave out swag items and presented the school a $5,000 check.
 

 

Suddenlink Presents Hispanic Heritage Essay Grand Prize Winner in St. Joseph, MO - February 16th

Suddenlink presented Central High School’s Student, Alexis Peterson a check for $1,500 for being one of our Hispanic Heritage Essay Contest winners. She wrote a very inspiring essay about how her mother’s amazing life has inspired her and made her proud of her Hispanic Heritage.

 

Mid Atlantic – North Carolina Highlights 

Pitt Community College VISIONS Students Awarded Laptop - Winterville, North Carolina - January 2022

For the past three years, Suddenlink has partnered with Kramden Institute to provide laptops to Pitt Community College VISIONS students in an effort to help close the digital divide. This year, 42 brand new Lenovo laptops were awarded to incoming VISIONS students. Breaking barriers by providing access to technology will help meet the needs of these students as they work to complete their final year of high school and continue their post-secondary education.

 

Bethel Senior Center Receives Computers - Bethel, NC - February 2022

Suddenlink donated eight computers to the Bethel Senior Center to benefit the senior citizens who frequently visit the center. Having the new Suddenlink Technology Corner in the center will allow the seniors to learn basic computer skills, remain engaged and connected with their family online.
 

 

Mid Atlantic – West Virginia Highlights

YWCA Charleston Women of Achievement - Charleston, WV - February 2022

Suddenlink sponsored the annual YWCA Charleston Women of Achievement luncheon. Five women in the Kanawha Valley were honored for their outstanding personal and professional achievements, as well as their contributions to the community. The event celebrates women's leadership while raising funds for all YWCA programs.
