Before you move

  • Pack like a pro: Keep your Optimum equipment (cable boxes, remotes, modem, router) and a copy of your latest bill together in a clearly labeled box for easy access on installation day.
  • Stay connected: Use Call Forwarding to keep business calls flowing to your mobile phone during the move.

During your move

  • Use Optimum Wifi
    Unlimited Internet access on your smartphone, tablet and laptop lets you stay connected during your big move.
  • Count on Optimum Voice
    If you are keeping the same phone numbers, have your calls forwarded to your cell phone or business so you never a miss a call. Plus, get text alerts when you receive voice mail or even listen to messages via email.
Make sure to use Optimum service features for uninterrupted connectivity.

After your move

  • Choose where to install:
    For hassle-free installation, pick your ideal locations for your Optimum services.
  • Make sure you have power:

How can I set up my move?

It’s easy! Just call us or simply fill out the Move Information form above to get started.

What happens to my equipment?

On most occasions, you can take your equipment (cable boxes, remote controls, modem and/or router) with you to your new address or request new equipment. If you have a new TV, let our Optimum Service Representative know, and we will ensure you have the right equipment for your needs. Our technicians will reinstall your existing equipment or provide new equipment on the day of your installation appointment.

If you are returning equipment that you obtained from Optimum, you may bring it to an Optimum Store location or return it by mail. Click here for more details.

To avoid any non-return fees be sure to return any equipment if you are not going to use it for Optimum service at your new location. All returned equipment must be in good working order. Any cable box obtained from Optimum, smart card obtained from Optimum, and remote control obtained from Optimum are the property of Optimum.

Can I keep my Optimum Voice phone number when I move?

In most cases, you can keep your existing phone number when you move, depending on your new location. To confirm eligibility and initiate the transfer process, please contact us before your move.

Can I keep my current plan and promotion?

Optimum Business is committed to providing value to our customers. Moving your business qualifies you for new promotional offers.

Do I have to pay to move my services?

No, service transfers through Optimum are free of charge.

What can I do if there is time between moving out and moving in?

Don't worry if there is a gap in time between moving from your previous location into your new one. Optimum will not bill customers for those periods.

What if I need to change my order or move in date?

Making a change is easy! Give us a call to make any changes.

What happens if Optimum doesn’t provide service at my new address?

Call us if it appears that Optimum Business services are not available at your new address. We'll check to see if that's correct and help you find another option for service, if necessary.

Moving outside the Optimum area?

Call us to discontinue your Optimum Business services. Have your new forwarding address handy so we can send you any credit due to you or your final bill.

Please return any equipment that you obtained from Optimum, including your Optimum cable boxes, remote controls and/or cable modems. Note: Lost, stolen, unreturned, or damaged equipment is subject to an unreturned equipment fee.
