What is Big Apple Connect?
Optimum is proud to partner with The New York City Office of Technology and Innovation to provide high-speed Internet and TV to NYCHA residents at no charge. Participants will be provided with 300 Mbps Internet, Basic TV service, including equipment, and installation.
Who is eligible for Big Apple Connect by Optimum?
All residents of participating New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) developments serviced by Optimum can participate in this program. Each unit may sign up for 1 NYC-funded resident connectivity bundle service package through Big Apple Connect by Optimum.

WoodsonHow do I enroll in Big Apple Connect?
Enrollment is simple, there are no forms to complete or income requirements to be met. For installation of a new account or conversion of an existing Optimum account:
- Call 866.580.1410 (Monday – Saturday, 10am – 7pm ET)
- Provide your address in a participating NYCHA property
- Schedule your installation
You may also visit a nearby Optimum Store and speak with a representative

What information do you need when I call to enroll?
You'll only need to provide your name, phone number, and service address.
Can I sign up for more than one Optimum account under Big Apple Connect?
Each unit is eligible for only 1 NYC-funded resident connectivity bundle service package.
What if I'm already an Optimum customer, use a different provider or don't have service?
All residents who reside in the specified NYCHA properties can participate in this program.
Current Optimum customers may convert their service to Big Apple Connect.
If you currently have service with another provider, you must cancel those services after your Optimum services are installed.
All new Optimum customers can set up installation, 7 days a week for free. To learn more call 866.580.1410 (Monday – Saturday, 10am – 7pm ET).If I am already an Optimum customer, when will I see the credit to my account?
Current Optimum customers who convert their services to Big Apple Connect will see the adjustment to their account within the next two bills.
Can I enroll if I have a past balance with Optimum?
Residents with past due balances or previous account delinquency with Optimum may still enroll in Big Apple Connect.
Will this affect my status in other subsidy programs like Lifeline or the Affordable Connectivity Program?
Big Apple Connect is not contingent on Lifeline or Affordable Connectivity Program approvals and will have no impact on current Lifeline benefits utilized for mobile services, if applicable.
Can I upgrade service to a faster Internet speed, bigger TV package, or add on other services?
Upgrades and add-on options are available in addition to the base services provided in Big Apple Connect. Costs for any of these options are the responsibility of the account holder.
What should I do if I move?
If you move to another eligible property, you will still be able to participate in Big Apple Connect. Simply call 866.580.1410 (Monday – Saturday, 10am – 7pm ET) to speak with a customer representative.
Unfortunately, if you move to a property that is not on the list of eligible properties you will no longer qualify for this program. .How long will Big Apple Connect last?
The partnership with New York City will last for 3 years, after which the city may extend the program on a yearly basis.
What happens after Big Apple Connect ends?
Please call 866.580.1410 (Monday – Saturday, 10am – 7pm ET) to speak with a customer representative about converting to any package program available at that time or to make arrangements to return the equipment.
