The Emergency Connectivity Fund provides $7.2B to reimburse schools and libraries for the purchase of connectivity services and equipment for students, teachers, and library patrons in remote locations.

The first filing window for these funds will prioritize prospective purchases, allowing schools and libraries to seek funds for future services between July 2021 and June 2022. If funds remain, another filing window will open to reimburse schools and libraries for retroactive services purchased between March 2020 and June 2021.

Eligibility is based on school or library participation in the program and the school or library’s determination of eligible households.

The Program provides funding for schools and libraries to buy:

•  Laptops
•  Tablets
•  Wi-Fi hotspots
•  Broadband connections
