The company’s community engagement focuses on the following key areas: 

Inspiring the next Generation of Innovators: Commitment to Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM) and Education

Optimum supports STEM and education at both the national and local level.  

Optimum has been a long-time supporter of FIRST® Robotics, fostering STEM skill development by sponsoring high school teams and regional competitions throughout our service area. Our annual Optimum Innovator Awards recognizes the teams for their innovation and efforts in the areas of community engagement, technology, inspiration, diversity, and sustainability.  

Optimum is also a supporter of DonorsChoose, funding thousands of classroom projects organized by public school teachers in hundreds of communities that enable access to tools, technology, and experiences that support student success. 

The company also supports local youth and community organizations across its 21-state footprint, providing financial support along with resources such as high-speed internet services and STEM learning opportunities to contribute to support innovation and growth of students.  

Supporting Small Businesses 

At Optimum, we believe small businesses are the backbone of our neighborhoods. These local champions not only support our economy but also bring passion and creativity to their communities. That’s why we’re committed to empowering small businesses with the tools, resources, and connectivity they need to thrive in today’s digital world. As part of our ongoing commitment, Optimum supports small businesses by providing grants and ad credits through its partnership with local Chambers and organizations. 

Since 2020, the company has provided more than $4.5 million in grants to help support over 800 small businesses overcome challenges, fuel growth, and strengthen their impact. The company has also partnered with local Chambers and organizations to launch grant programs that directly benefit small businesses. Through these partnerships, Optimum has helped make a difference in communities, including Bridgeport, CT, Celina, TX, Charleston, WV, Edison, NJ, Greenville, NC, Henderson County, NC, Long Island, NY, and Southwest Louisiana, with plans to expand to even more communities in the coming months.
