Optimum Announces the Winners of its 2025 Hispanic Heritage Essay Contest

Optimum’s long-running essay contest recognizes and celebrates the rich histories, cultures, and contributions of generations of Hispanic Americans across the country 

Optimum, the leading provider of fiber internet, mobile and TV services, is proud to announce the 2025 winners of its 18th annual Hispanic Heritage Essay Contest. In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, which is celebrated each year from September 15 – October 15, Optimum invited students across the company’s 21-state footprint to share in 500 words or less a person, cultural experience, celebration or tradition that has helped them connect to Hispanic culture and explain what it means to them. 

The student essay contest ran from Monday, September 15 to Friday, October 31 and boasted a total of four Grand Prize scholarships of $3,000. This year’s winners are:  

  • Alinson M. from Brien McMahon High School in Norwalk, CT 
  • Alisson M. from East Middle School in Brentwood, NY 
  • Jocelin A. from Early College High School in Tyler, TX 
  • Luke D. from Hubbard Middle School in Tyler, TX 

Honorable Mention prizes have also been awarded to a dozen finalists in both the high school and middle school categories. Additionally, Optimum recognized the educators who encouraged their students to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month by submitting an essay.
