Is Twitch Worth Getting?
This question is a bit complicated because it really depends on what you’re using Twitch for. If you’re using it to stream yourself playing video games, you’ll need to invest time and money. First, you must become an affiliate which requires you to get 50 followers, 500 minutes’ worth of broadcasting, 7 unique broadcast days and an average of 3+ concurrent viewers over the last 30 days. Once you’ve accomplished this, you can seek to become a partner, which is how you can make money. In order to do this, you must stream for 25 hours, stream for 12 unique days, and reach 75 average viewers in the last 30 days. It’s hard to tell if it’s worth it because although you can make a bit of money on it, the platform is saturated with players and it’s extremely competitive. You need to be extremely good to gain a following and regular viewers.
If you’re only interested in viewing and not playing then it’s probably worth it. As mentioned earlier, it is free to watch streams on Twitch so you really have nothing to lose by giving it a shot!
