Expand Your Office to Virtually Everywhere

Expand Your Office to Virtually Everywhere

With a few simple tips, you can make your devices more productive and powerful work tools, allowing you to be effective from anywhere. Success lies in cloud-based strategies, mobile savvy, and widespread internet access like that from Optimum WiFi.

Whether you’re mostly on the road, mostly in the office, or split your time between both, chances are, your devices can be more efficient. A 2015 white paper from research firm IDC highlighted key productivity challenges, such as supporting and facilitating compatibility and connectivity among multiple operating systems and devices.1

The good news is that you can improve these issues with a few smart steps. By adopting more cloud platforms and ensuring your mobile infrastructure is solid, you can eliminate many productivity busters. Try these four steps to get started.

  1. Embrace the cloud.

Cloud-based platforms move data and software off premises, often providing greater security and access. Employees can log in with their devices from wherever they are, eliminating downtime when they’re not in the office or able to access the office network.

  2. Get mobile.

Be sure that your employees are equipped with the mobile apps they need to access platforms and data. For example, if you use Office 365, be sure phones and tablets are equipped with the accompanying mobile app.

  3. Stay connected.

Cloud-based platforms and mobile apps aren’t very effective if you can’t get online. Be sure your employees have access to a strong mobile network through services like Optimum WiFi, which gives them access to over 1.5 million hotspots, as well as a hotspot finder to help them find their nearest connection.

  4. Get notified.

Keep on top of all your devices and communication with push services that connect notifications between your computers, laptops, and mobile devices. Services like Pushbullet and Continuity (for Apple) notify you across devices when you get a text, call, email message, or other communication.

When your devices work well together, you’ll be more productive. By taking these steps, you can create a device infrastructure that’s seamless, functional and which keeps you informed.
