Optimum Voice uses your home's electrical power and a cable modem to provide your home phone service. Like a cordless phone, Optimum Voice will not operate if the power in your home goes out.
A battery backup can be connected to your Optimum Voice cable modem to provide standby power during a power outage.
Optimum Voice battery backups are currently available at our Optimum Stores for the following cable modems online or at your local Optimum Store.
Motorola
Rechargeable battery backup Model #PB1000 for Motorola SBV4200, SBV5120 and SBV5121XM cable modems
Each battery backup solution provides the following:
- Up to 8 hours of stand-by time
- Up to 6 hours talk time
- Lithium ion battery technology
- Installs without tools
Note: To select the correct battery backup, you will need the make and model number of your cable modem. A sticker located on either the side or bottom of your cable modem indicates the manufacturer and model.
