Step 1: Connect Voice-Enabled Modem to Cable and Telephone Lines

  1. Disconnect the current cable modem and exchange it with the new voice-enabled modem. The voice-enabled modem has a telephone jack in the back.

  2. Make sure that the voice-enabled modem is properly connected to the cable line and your PC/Mac.

  3. Connect your telephone to Line 1 of the voice-enabled modem using the RJ-11 telephone cord.

Note! If your connection to the PC/MAC is via USB (), please insert the Optimum Installation CD to install the appropriate USB driver for the voice-enabled modem.
