Step 1: Connect Voice-Enabled Modem to the Cable Line



Note! You can use the cable clips Cable Clips to secure the cable line to the wall or carpet moulding, if needed.

Check
  1. The cable line should be split as close as possible to where the cable line first enters your residence.

  2. Once cable line connections are tightened (do not overtighten), plug in the modem.

  3. Check to see if the appropriate lights on your modem are lit (see chart at right). If your modem is not listed at right, please refer to the manufacturer's documentation for information on your modem.

Note! Check to ensure that the Standby light is not on. If it is lit green, press the Standby button at the top of the voice-enabled modem. Please note that when the modem is in standby status, the Internet connection will be disabled and hence the installation process cannot continue.
