The Digital Transition Is Underway

Nearly 70 million television sets are at risk of losing their TV signals on February 17, 2009, if consumers do not make the transition to Digital Television (DTV). This innovative new type of over-the-air digital broadcasting is a more flexible and efficient technology than the current analog system - and gives you the highest picture quality, more free over-the-air choices and new places to enjoy and manage your entertainment experiences.

Optimum can help you be prepared
As a leader in digital technology, Cablevision's Optimum Networksm has the new digital format already in place. Our Optimum® customers will receive all of their television channels in brilliant digital picture and sound, and be fully prepared when the federally mandated switch to digital-only broadcasting occurs.

The benefits of switching
As an Optimum customer you will have much to gain with the transition to digital television - including dramatically better picture and sound quality, as well as a variety of new services, ranging from additional free broadcast channels to advanced data services such as significantly enhanced closed captioning.

The switch will soon be here
Under legislation passed by Congress - the Deficit Reduction Act of 2005 - over-the-air broadcast television stations are required to turn off their analog channels on February 17, 2009, and continue broadcasting exclusively in the digital format.

Please be aware that Optimum will be adhering to these guidelines, and your service will be affected if you currently receive over-the-air television signals through antennas on secondary television sets that are equipped with analog tuners.
